Nexum Pensions exists to fix one of the biggest challenges in retirement saving, the constant creation of multiple pension pots each time someone changes jobs. Auto-enrolment has encouraged millions to save, but it has also left many managing several small pensions across different providers, each with their own logins, paperwork, and transfer delays.
We simplify this for everyone involved. Employers run payroll as usual, employees keep contributing to their existing pensions, and pension providers receive cleaner data, faster payments, and higher retention. The result is a connected, efficient pension ecosystem that helps people save more effectively and stay invested for longer.

The Team
Founded by João Cabral, a pensions and fintech specialist with a background in designing digital solutions that simplify complex financial systems. The Nexum Pensions team understands the complexity of today’s pension landscape, and the opportunity to make it simpler for everyone. We are combining industry knowledge with modern technology to revolutionise how pensions are managed, connecting employers, providers, and members through one seamless process. Dynamic, experienced, and driven by impact, the team is united by a single goal: to make pensions work the way they should.
Before founding Nexum Pensions, João worked across product and innovation roles within the financial wellbeing and retirement sector, where he saw first-hand how fragmented processes created barriers for both savers and providers. Driven by a belief that pensions should be as connected and portable as modern employment, João founded Nexum to make contributions follow the member, not the job. His focus is on building practical, scalable technology that improves outcomes for employees, employers, and pension providers alike.
