Press Release: Nexum Pensions launches ClearWay to simplify workplace pension
administration for UK payroll teams

22nd September, 2026

Nexum Pensions has today formally launched ClearWay, a new platform designed to help UK payroll bureaus, bookkeepers and accountancy firms simplify workplace pension administration across multiple employers and pension providers.

The launch follows with National Payroll Week and recognises the central role payroll professionals play in keeping workplace pensions moving. Firms managing pensions on behalf of multiple employers can face recurring work across dierent provider portals, file formats, validation rules and payment processes, alongside ongoing auto enrolment duties.

ClearWay brings together three core areas of pension administration in a single platform: Administration Tooling, Auto Enrolment Manager and Existing Pensions Support. Together, they are designed to reduce repetitive work, improve visibility and give payroll teams greater control across employers and providers.

Administration Tooling gives payroll teams one place to manage workplace pension submissions. It is designed to support the file formats produced by existing payroll software, bulk uploads, smart data error handling for formatting inconsistencies, submission tracking and greater visibility of exceptions. This helps teams create a cleaner and more consistent pension administration process across every payroll cycle.

The Auto Enrolment Manager helps firms maintain historical submission data and records across employees, payroll systems and pension providers. It also supports the management of opt-outs, re-enrolment activity, audit requirements and regular Declarations of Compliance to The Pensions Regulator. Existing Pensions Support enables engaged employees to have workplace pension contributions sent into their preferred existing pension arrangements. The service is designed to support greater employee pension choice while helping employers and payroll teams

maintain auto enrolment compliance and keep the process manageable.

João Cabral, Founder of Nexum Pensions, said:

Payroll teams sit at the centre of workplace pension delivery. As firms support more employers and work across dierent pension providers, fragmented administration creates a recurring workload that affects capacity, control and the time available for higher-value client support.

We developed ClearWay to give payroll bureaus, bookkeepers and accountancy firms a more consistent way to manage pension submissions, exceptions and ongoing auto enrolment activity. ClearWay provides the infrastructure payroll teams need to simplify today’s workload and prepare for the next stage of workplace pension delivery.

ClearWay is designed for firms managing multiple employers, multiple pension providers, contribution file submissions, opt-outs, re-enrolment duties, Declarations of Compliance and employees with existing pensions.

Jody Cox, Founder of the Payroll Support Network shares:

Having worked in complex organisations with several pension providers, I know too well the huge administrative burden placed on payroll teams when submitting their data, which is often achieved with manual workarounds, and hours of spreadsheet work. When I came across Nexum Pensions ClearWay, I instantly saw the significant efficiency and accuracy it brings, giving payroll professionals more time to utilise their technical knowledge and support their

workers. I have no doubt that it will be revolutionary for payroll professionals.

Nexum Pensions is inviting UK payroll bureaus, bookkeepers, accountancy firms, payroll service providers and employer support teams managing multiple pension schemes to join the first ClearWay trial group. Early sign-ups will receive up to 3 months free.
